About Coach Vec

PLAYER PROFILE -

Coach Vec is originally from Baltimore, MD where he was an All-State, 3-sport athlete in football, basketball & baseball.  Football is where he racked up the most accolades though, gaining awards as an Honorable Mention All-American, All Metro Polytan Team, and All-State as a wide receiver, defensive back, kick returner & punt returner.  Coach Vec was then recruited to multiple division one schools, receiving full scholarship offers to play safety at University of Maryland, Penn State University, Pitt University, Boston College and Syracuse.  He ultimately accepted an offer to play wide receiver at Marshall University, who at the time was nationally ranked higher than all the Power 5 offers.

Coach Vec was living his dream as a division-1 college football player, where he was ironically switched over to play safety.  He became a 3 year captain of the special teams, and also received the Pepsi NCAA player of the month for division one players in July of 2006.  Going into the off-season of Coach Vec’s Sophomore year, he had the greatest blessing he would ever receive, when his son, Tyson Conner Moravec, was born on 01/07/2008.  Tyson’s mom was an All-American softball player at Marshall University as well, where they both continued to play sports, take Tyson to class with them, and raise their son.

It didn’t take long though for his 4.34 speed, combined with his head-hunting, hard-hitting attitude on the field, to riddle him with injuries.  Coach Vec suffered multiple concussions, and even a fractured neck.  But what put the final nail in the coffin for his playing career was his 12th concussion he received at Houston University in 2007.  The TBI he suffered in Houston would cause him to be hospitalized, put on bed rest for months, and even had to withdraw from school for the entire semester.  The coaching staff had to tell him that the doctors would not allow him to ever play football again.  He thought that his dreams were crushed and there was nothing else in life he could be successful at for a career … but HE WAS WRONG!

COACHING PROFILE -

In order to keep Coach Vec on his full athletic scholarship, the coaching staff decided to make him the assistant special teams coach and defensive backs coach.  But what would change his life forever was when they had him become the assistant strength & conditioning coach for the football, basketball, and baseball teams.  He ultimately graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing - but this move by the coaching staff is what lit a fire under him to eventually gain his master’s degree in exercise science & kinesiology.  Coach Vec learned everything he could from his mentor & head strength and conditioning coach Mike Cochran.  He was a Navy Seal, and then became the strength and conditioning coach for Ohio State University, before relocating to Marshall University under Mark Snyder.   While being a strength & conditioning coach, as well as an athletic performance speed and agility specialist, Coach Vec began to create his own unique programs for athletes.  He quickly realized that he had a special talent in maximizing players athletic performance.

TRAINING PROFILE –

Coach Vec then moved to Virginia Beach, VA.  He started out by training players referred to him by agents who were trying to get their clients into the NFL, NBA & MLB.  After 2 years of successfully training players, Coach Vec opened his own athletic performance facility called Vec’s Plex in Virginia Beach.  Vec’s Plex was before its time when it opened in 2013, as it was the first facility that gave you the ability to train or play any sport under one roof.  After 2.5 years of successfully training athletes of all ages and sports, Coach Vec began to have some of his concussion symptoms resurface.  He ended up losing Vec’s Plex, along with everything he had, except for the relationships he had built and the clothes on his back.  While seeing countless doctors for the severe medical issues from his head trauma, he ended up moving back to Maryland with his brother to get back on his feet.  There, he became the general manager of Soldierfit in Frederick, Maryland, which is an Army inspired fitness chain that specialized in bootcamp style classes and workout facility.  After 14 months of hard work, Coach Vec was awarded a franchise, Soldierfit Va. Beach, and was able to move back to Virginia Beach and be with his son.  As the owner of Soldierfit Va. Beach and Pride Fitness, Coach Vec was able to personally train, run group fitness classes, nutrition seminars, train the general population, as well as elite athletes.  But most important to him was giving back to the community and those in need.  He won several awards for “Most Volunteer Work in Virginia Beach”, and his favorite award “Largest Impact made on the Special Needs Community” awarded by Mayor Bobby Dyer.  Soldierfit Va. Beach and Pride Fitness were both very special places for all members and teammates.  But after only 5 years of helping members conquer their fitness and life goals, he lost the gyms due to Covid 19.  Coach Vec was then was hired as the strength & conditioning coach for the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg.  Coach Vec has now teamed back up with Dr. Parmiter, as they share a common passion for making sure that all people – athletes and non-athletes - know how to move their bodies in the most efficient way possible.
